Nick O'Shaughnessy, Trustee
Nick O’Shaughnessy served with the Infantry as part of the Royal Irish Rangers and then the Royal Irish Regiment with service in Northern Ireland ( West Belfast ), Germany, Cyprus, UK, Belize, Kuwait, Falkland Islands. On leaving the Armed Forces Nick joined Sussex Police, became a Detective, eventually specialising in covert policing and latterly on a Safeguarding Unit dealing with vulnerable adults, children victims, serious sexual assaults, high risk domestic violence and child deaths. Nick has also been a professional drug and alcohol worker, a Bereavement Counsellor with the Charity Cruse Bereavement Care and now works for the Armed Forces Charity SSAFA. Nick accessed the services provided by Veterans’ Growth, completed the veterans course and now regularly volunteers with the charity. Nick brings to Veterans’ Growth a wealth of experience in multiple fields and a clear understanding of how Veterans’ Growth works to the benefit of Veterans.
