Organising your fundraiser
1. Pick an idea
Let your creative juices flow! You may want to think about where your event will be, do you need to find a venue? What is your fundraising target? How much do you want to raise? If you are having to purchase items, then set a budget and stick to it! If you are doing a raffle maybe your local shops will donate a prize or someone you know has an unwanted present?
2. Plan your activity
All activities need some planning and preparation so the earlier you get started, the better. Location is an important thing to consider. Will you need some help? Family and friends are a great resource, and they will love to be involved.
3. Promote the event
Once you’ve sorted out the details, think about how you’ll spread the word. The easiest way is to set-up a Just Giving page, you can then share through social media, email, text or WhatsApp. Maybe approach your local paper or radio station and ask local shops, community groups and schools to share your poster. Don’t forget to tell us so we can promote it too.
4. Enjoy the day
Please make sure you have fun at your event, you have worked so hard planning and organising it, you really do need to have fun! Don’t forget to take photos and share online and please do tag us using #TeamVeteransGrowth and linking us to your post.
5. Tell us how it went
We really do want to hear about your fundraiser so please do send us your success stories and photos.
6. Pay in your money
When the money is all collected, it’s time to tally up your total. Our vital work costs money, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing supporters so please don’t forget to send in your donation.
